Possible Answers to Basic Philosophical Questions

Francis Schaeffer considers how Christians might provide possible answers to some of the basic philosophical questions that challenge people today.

The basic areas of philosophical thought are:

1. Being - what is? The existence of man.

2. Man and his dilemma.

a. The tension between personal aspirations and human limitations due to his finiteness.
b. The tension between man's nobility and his cruelty - his estrangement from himself, other human beings and the universe - the issue of morals.
