To have an invitation to debate the existence of God between a man of science and a man of fantasy is just mocking and offensive.

for whom? Dawkins is always eager to publish but what is mocking and offensive about a civilised debate? after all he is an Oxford man, surely he is used to the cut and thrust

I asked Daniel Came for his opinion of one of Craig's articles. I got no reply. I wonder why? Perhaps he was too cowardly to put his reputation on the line and say what he thought of Craig.

That still does not explain why Dawkins is not prepared to defend the arguments he put forward in The God Delusion. Five years after publication, it would surely be good to see whether they have stood the test of public exposure? And that would be best done by debating an academic who has worked on the other side of the argument, rather than a Cardinal, Bishop, etc. who may not be an expert in these arguments.

The God Delusion has been so thoroughly discredited by so many authorities Dawkins would be a fool to debate it because he would simply look the intellectual charlatan that he is. He should stick to fruit flies.
