A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Creator

Thursday 10 January 2013
18:00-19:30 London time

The discussion about the existence of God in light of modern scientific discoveries has been permeating universities, literature, debates, talk shows, and pub conversations. Is the question of God’s existence a scientific question? Can science contribute to this fundamental question? In this workshop we will consider evidence from the epistemology of science, physics, cosmology, and biology (origin and diversity of life). We will evaluate the evidence, and see how well it fits with a theistic, an atheistic, and a pantheistic worldview.

Alexander Fink is co-leader of the European Scientific Network, and a member of the European Leadership Forum Steering Committee. He received his PhD in biophysics from the University of Regensburg (Germany), having previously studied at the Universities of Bayreuth (Germany) and St. Andrews (Scotland). He works as a physicist in industry. Alexander was active in university student ministry, and served as SMD travelling secretary for Bavaria. He helped found the Kepler Forum (www.keplerforum.org), which provides a free platform for all who want to discuss deep worldview questions, on a personal level in the pub and on an academic level in lectures and symposia.
